    WHAT IS HOME CARE?

“Home Care” encompasses a wide range of health and social services, which are crucial links in health care. These services are delivered at home to recovering, disabled, chronically, or terminally ill persons who require medical, nursing, social, or therapeutic treatment and assistance with essential activities of daily living. With physician orders for home health, anyone can refer a patient or family member to COMPLETE HOME HEALTH. The physician then supervises the individual care of each patient.

WHO PAYS FOR HOME CARE SERVICES?

Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance companies provide payment for home health care. These programs cover all approved costs when a patient requires skilled nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or a medical social worker, as long as the patient is considered homebound. Additionally, links to health care services ensure that many medical supplies are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance. We coordinate the purchase or rental of durable medical equipment from the DME company of the patient’s choice at the patient’s request.

Home Health Links: Essential Resources for Care

People with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities can benefit from a variety of resources that provide essential information and support. Comprehensive disability information resources can be found through organizations such as the Federation of Children with Special Needs, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Council on Disabilities. The Americans with Disabilities Act ensures protections for individuals, while initiatives like the Special Olympics promote inclusivity. For communication needs, the American Sign Language University offers valuable resources. Families can access support through organizations like March of Dimes and the CP Parent Resource Center, which focus on specific disabilities and developmental challenges. The National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services and the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities provide guidance on services available in the community. Additionally, the Exceptional Parent serves as a vital resource for the special needs community, and the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities offers further support. For those dealing with Sensory Processing Disorder, the Resource Center provides targeted information. The Spina Bifida Association and the Kids with Tubes Support Page are excellent links for families facing specific health care challenges. Special Needs Home Schooling resources are also available to assist parents in educating their children at home. Furthermore, the American Dietetic Association, American Cancer Society, and the National Stroke Association offer health care advice and support. For medication safety and consumer health information, the Consumer Medication Safety and the American Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition are invaluable. Families can navigate health care options through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Louisiana Medicaid, and the Medicare Certified Home Health Compare. The Department of Health and Hospitals in Louisiana and the Homecare Association of Louisiana provide additional resources to ensure families have access to the care they need.
